How Big Should I Make the Coop?
I'm planning on getting about 5 chickens sometime this summer, but I'm not sure how big I should build the coop so they aren't cramped. I was planning on having them completely free-range on our property like the others were, but I have a feeling two of the dogs we have wouldn't understand that they are off-limits and not toys, so I'm going to have a pen in our field for them. The coop would mostly act as a place to roost and lay their eggs, but I've never built one before, so any suggestions?
I'm not planning on letting any of the eggs hatch until I'm the only one left on the property, at which point I will give the chickens even more room. Thanks to anyone who answers

Ok well each chicken should have atleast 4 to 6 feet of personal space so i suggest that if ur gonna have chickens toy lay eggs and have baby chicks make it a 20 by 20 foot coop
